Bourgogne Chardonnay Les Chaumes des Perrieres, Domaine Raymond Dupont-Fahn
Description
A contempary classic white Burgundy - creamy, buttery on the nose and full of class on the palate. In 1975, 20cm of topsoil was applied to the vineyard (Les Perrières of Meursault). A few years later, neighbouring producers complained, and the plot lost its classification. All these years later the vines are producing exceptional wines which aren't allowed to command as high a price as their neighbours. This wine is ripe, fresh and full with aromas of creamy pear, nectarine and butterscotch. Superb finish. Great with fish, chicken, veal creamy pasta dishes, fish in sauce, mushrooms, and soft cheeses.
