Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc Metis

Metis is a wine made by Matt Day, Klein Constantia’s hugely talented young winemaker, and it is directly inspired by Pascal Jolivet, Loire-based Sauvignon Blanc icon. Matt spent the 2012 harvest working closely with Pascal and his winemaker Jean-Luc Soty. Cue a meeting of minds, swopping of secrets and a plan to make a sort of fusion-style wine from Matt’s top grapes. The tension, aromatics and texture are nothing short of remarkable. This is clearly the future for Sauvignon from this historic estate. It ought to be a siren call to all Cape winemakers (Matthew Jukes)
